A half-day of elephant interaction, feeding, and bathing at the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in the Mae Wang area.
TOUR DESCRIPTION
You can pick between the morning or afternoon session for the half-day program at The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. This half-day elephant experience will take you out of the city and into the Mae Wang hills, where you will spend a few hours interacting with several friendly elephants. Prepare to be picked up early for the morning session! Your guide will give you an overview of the Asian elephant and some background information on the elephants that live there when you arrive. It will be time to meet the elephants next! The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary's elephant meeting session is quite informal, and you may feed, socialize, and get up close and personal with all of the elephants. It's also a terrific opportunity to snap some pictures. The elephants will then be taken to their favorite mud pit, where they can wallow in the muddy water. Feel free to join them in their muddy escapade. The elephants will be walked to a little river for a bath and brush down as the morning comes to a close. After the morning activities, you will be served a traditional Thai lunch before returning to Chiang Mai and being transferred back to your Chiang Mai accommodation.
Note afternoon session follows the same itinerary but the pick-up time will be 11:30 am and you will be provided with lunch at the start of the program.
ITINERARY
- 06:30-07:00 Pick up from your hotel
- Drive approximately 1.5 hours South of Chiang Mai
- Walkthrough and learn about the elephants
- Change into traditional Karen clothing and make medicine for the elephants.
- Meet the elephants. Feed, give medicine, interact, and play with the elephants
- Mud Spa with the elephants
- Walk with the elephants to a river and bathe them.
- Eat a traditional meal and then say goodbye to the elephants.
- 13:30 Drop off at your hotel or accommodation.
- Pick up 11:30am - 6:00pm
